Spotify Playlist

Lev has compiled this Spotify playlist featuring a selection of recordings.

Dvořák - The Noon Witch

Lev's recommendation for the symphonic poem is this recording by the Berlin Philharmonic under the baton of Claudio Abbado.

Strauss - Four Last Songs

Lev has two contrasting suggestions.

Firstly, one of several recordings by the soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. This live recording by the Philharmonia Orchestra was conducted by Herbert von Karajan at the Royal Festival Hall. It features Manoug Parikian, Lev's father, playing the violin solo.

Alternatively, try this recording by Jessye Norman with the Gewandhausorchester of Leipzig and Kurt Masur.

Vaughan Williams - A London Symphony

Lev recommends this recording by Sir Mark Elder and the Hallé released in 2011.
