Welcome to Camden Symphony Orchestra

Camden Symphony Orchestra is one of London's leading non-professional orchestras. We have been a mainstay of musical life in north London for more than forty years with around seventy regular players. Under our Musical Director Levon Parikian, CSO seeks to combine the familiar staples of the Classical, Romantic and 20th century repertoire with less well-known and more challenging works. We rehearse on a weekly basis and perform three major orchestral concerts a year.

Our most recent concert programmes have included symphonies by Dvořák, Rachmaninov, Vaughan Williams and Florence Price, Holst's The Planets, Khachaturian's Masquerade Suite, Strauss' Four Last Songs and Sibelius' Finlandia. Recent concerto performances include Brahms' Violin Concerto, Gershwin's Piano Concerto, Elgar's Cello Concerto and Strauss' Horn Concerto No. 1. Our world premiere performance of Claire Victoria Roberts' Dream Big for Tomorrow, a piece for improvising vocalist and orchestra written especially for us, was broadcast on BBC Radio 3. The orchestra has performed a number of operas, and a wide range of choral works including Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Handel's Coronation Anthems, Haydn's The Creation and Mozart's Requiem. We look forward to seeing you at our next concert, and we're always pleased to hear from instrumentalists keen to play with us.
